SKATE CAMP KICKS OFF SUNDAY WITH SHOWCASE OF TALENT - CONTEST FINALS!

Summer 2010 at Element YMCA Skate Camp kicks off with quite a spectacle!
The Element "Make It Count" Contest Series finals are this Sunday, June 20th, the first day of camp. The finalists are coming from around the world, along with last year's champ Vincent Luevanos, will battle it out for Element Sponsorship and the 2010 crown as campers watch it all unfold! Who do you think will win? Watch the compilation video of finalists and vote!

SESSION ONE HAS ELEMENT PRO'S, AM'S AND CONTEST SERIES FINALS!

DRAKE FLORES WINS MAKE IT COUNT CONTEST, HEADED TO FIRST WEEK OF SKATE CAMP TO COMPETE IN FINALS

Congrats to Drake Flores who was the overall winner at the Austin, TX stop in the "Make It Count" contest series. Drake will join 14 pre-qualified others at week one of skate camp and compete for Element flow sponsorship. Watch the video here. Camp kicks off like never before this summer with the contest finals, "Make It Count" film premiere and Element riders on hand including Mike V, Darrell Stanton, Tony Tave, Chad Tim Tim, Levi Brown and Element Founder/President Johnny Schillereff.

SILAS, SKATER OF THE SUMMER IN 2003

Before he was Thrasher's Skater of the Year, Silas Baxter Neal was Skate Camp's visitor of the year back in 2003. The first honor is just slightly more coveted, but regrdless, in a matter of a couple days Silas destroyed camp, and was kind as could be to back it up. "BETTER YOUR COMMUNITY" WINNER HEADED TO SKATE CAMP

Congrats to Amanda Castillo of Santa Maria, CA who won the 'Better Your Community' contest put on by Elemental Awareness and Pangea Organics. Amanda wrote an essay discussing her involvement in community programs as well as discussing the importance of skateboarding in her life. She will choose a friend to join her for Session 5 at Element YMCA Skate Camp, where they'll spend the week with Element rider Lacey Baker. Congrats Amanda!

S.KA.T.E WINNERS HEADED TO SKATE CAMP
Monday, June 2nd
Elemental Awareness Teamed up with Beachworks to throw a Game of SKATE for the Grand Opening of a new store in Chino Hills. Kids came out from all over the I.E. out to compete for prizes including a new Element Flat Bar and two Scholarships to Element YMCA Skate Camp. In the end, it was Miguel Gamino who took home top honors and the Element Flat Bar. Austin Grant came in a respectable second place also earning a place at Element YMCA Skatecamp this summer. Congrats goes out to all the winners!

MICHAEL RUIZ TAKES 1ST - HEADS TO CAMP

Future Nature Contest Series #4 was in Delano, CA, Click here for a photo gallery. Over 100 entrants bobbed and weaved through the expansive park during practice. In the 14-17 division, it was almost a back to back victory for Alex Coronado, our champion from the Simi Valley contest, but ultimately the win went to Michael Ruiz, who will be joining Alex at Skate Camp this year as his grand prize. We will see both of these skaters battling it out with the top six from each Future Nature contest at the finals on April 19th at the Vans Park in Orange. See you there!

SKATE CAMP TIME AGAIN

Oh man, can you smell it in the air? It’s almost time for Skatecamp! Ricky Flip is putting the final touches on last year’s video. If you attended in ’07, it will be in your mailbox soon. Also, for your skating pleasure, we’ll be starting on some fun new additions as soon as all the snow thaws. Mike Greenwald will be doing the work, so you can bet it’ll be epic!

Congrats to Akheem Campbell who won the 14-17 division of the Elemental Awareness Future Nature AM contest series! Included in his package is a scholarship to Element YMCA Skate Camp. In 18 & up / Sponsored Skate Camp counselor Brian Price took first with some amazing skating, props! The Element team kept the summer at Skate Camp going strong with another action packed week. Chad Muska, Nyjah Huston, Tosh Townend, Levi Brown, Mike Barker and Ray Barbee were all in the house for session four. Element AV staff were on hand all week to document the weeks events. The Elemental Awareness 'Future Nature' Contest series is back on for ‘07. At each contest the winner of the 14-17 division wins a scholarship to Element YMCA Skate Camp amongst a wealth of other prizes. The first winner was David Gonzalez at the Delano event. Check out the contest schedule for a list of the remaining events, at the final event the winner receives a years supply of Element boards!

Friday, February 16th
Sports illustrated kids has selected Element YMCA Skate Camp as the premier sports camp in Californi check it out on the SI kids site. Also in the March 07 issue of SI Kids, Element YMCA Skate Camp was selected as one of 26 highlighted sports camp that SI Kids recommends.
